Xbox Series X Vs PlayStation 5: Which is better and why?

Xbox Series X Vs PlayStation 5

Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5 being the new leaders of the gaming world are about to make their entry in the first half of November. Both the devices are from the top-selling companies i.e. Microsoft and Sony respectively. These enterprises are quite famous for their ingenious work. At the same time, both of these devices are fully equipped with breathtaking latest features and advanced mechanics. So, let’s tighten your belts for this war of gaming machinery.

Price

In a sense of pricing, Xbox Series seems to be winning this race. As PlayStation 5 is available in $499 and similar to it Xbox Series X is $499. But, the major difference comes in when we discuss their digital devices.

The digital devices will be available in remarkably low pricing. For PS5 it is about $399, but for Xbox Series S the price is quite low. The Xbox Series S is available in just $299. Just imagine experiencing 120 fps and that too in $299 would definitely be a win-win deal.

Controller

When it comes to the controller, PlayStation 5 is vanquishing over the Xbox Series X. Since the beginning the PS5 controller was trending because of its sleek shape and decent colour contrast. Along with all charisma, the neon blue strip is cherry on the top. DualSense and DualShock 4 wireless controller is now available with USB-C port to allow easy and quick charging.

DualSense marks a radical departure from our previous controller offerings and captures just how strongly we feel about making a generational leap with PS5. The new controller, along with the many innovative features in PS5, will be transformative for games – continuing our mission at PlayStation to push the boundaries of play, now and in the future. To the PlayStation community, I truly want to thank you for sharing this exciting journey with us as we head toward PS5’s launch in Holiday 2020. We look forward to sharing more information about PS5, including the console design, in the coming months.

Unlike PlayStation 5 the Xbox Series X will have both Micro-USB port and USB-C port. While comparing the size and dimension, Xbox controller is somewhat smaller than PS5. These smaller dimensions could be beneficial for better handling.

Processor

While playing with determination, one always needs a powerful processing system to operate smoothly. Both the devices are providing a well-developed processor, but still it is a competition and there is always a margin of improvement. Xbox Series X is equipped with the latest 7 nm Zen 2 processor and it can easily operate 4K at 60 to 120 frames per second.

Likely to Xbox Series X, PlayStation 5 has Zen 2 processor too, but it works at 3.5 GHz despite the Xbox Series X which functions at 3.8 GHz. Just because of the different frequencies the PS5 can process only 10.28 teraflops whereas Xbox Series X can run about 12.155 teraflops in a second.

Storage

The Xbox Series has an internal storage of 1TB Custom NVMe SSD. In comparison to the Xbox, PS5 has only 825GB SSD storage. Along with all the built-in storage, both devices have expandable storage and slots for SD cards. So, if you are looking for a device with huge storage capacity Xbox Series X would be a great choice.

System Memory

Both consoles have 16GB GDDR6 memory and PS5 has memory bandwidth of 448GB/s whereas Xbox Series X has a bandwidth of 10GB at 560GB/s, 6GB at 336GB/s.

Size And Dimension

In terms of measurement, PS5 is winning. The latest product of Sony is approximately 15.5 inches tall, 4.09 inches wide and 10.24 inches deep. Whereas, Microsoft’s Xbox is a little bit smaller in dimension. Their weights are approximately the same. PS5 has a weight of 4.5kg and Xbox Series X weighs 4.4kg.
